Clean-room linear stage: selection checks
Prepare the environment, particle-control and motion requirements for one linear-stage configuration.
Choosing a stage for a cleanroom
Start with the required cleanliness class, then check the complete moving assembly under the intended airflow and operating cycle. A stage drawing identifies its geometry; particle-test evidence must match the proposed assembly and conditions.
Use the MC10 reference carefully
The related application shows an MC10-C dimensional illustration. The MC10 catalog page is a separate model reference: its motion data and drawing do not establish an MC10-C configuration or a cleanliness rating.
Compare motion and cleaning requirements
For dispensing, inspection or workpiece positioning, compare the required travel and moving load with the exact drive and mounting arrangement. For cleanroom use, also confirm lubrication, cleaning access and particle testing under the intended operating cycle.
Continue comparing
Start with the environment requirement
State the target cleanliness class and how it will be measured in the installed machine. Include the process, airflow, operating cycle and nearby particle sources. These conditions determine which stage evidence is relevant.
Inspect the complete moving assembly
Review the drive, guides, covers, seals, lubricant and cable routing as one moving assembly. Ask where particles may be generated or trapped, and whether extraction or other controls are part of the design.
Match motion and maintenance to the task
Give the stroke, load, speed, orientation, duty cycle and cleaning procedure together. Ask how service access, part replacement and lubrication are handled inside the intended environment.
Match the evidence to operating conditions
Request particle or cleanliness test material for the proposed stage configuration and the actual airflow, suction and motion conditions. Check how the test was run and whether covers, seals or extraction equipment are required to reproduce it.
